What is a private pelvic scan and why do I need one?

A private pelvic scan is designed to investigate acute or chronic pain in the pelvis for women of any age. A private pelvic scan Reading with Future Baby will identify any underlying problems and help you determine the best course of treatment.

The scan generally takes around half an hour and uses ultrasound to investigate and analyse the organs of the pelvis and examines your bladder, ovaries, uterus, cervix and fallopian tubes to identify the root cause of any problems you are experiencing.

If any abnormalities are identified via the scan we will talk these through with you and offer any relevant advice. We can also forward a full report to your GP so you can discuss any ongoing or potential treatment with them. Our service complements the NHS and does not replace it so if issues are reported, you are advised to book an appointment with your GP as soon as possible.

If you require a female sonographer or a consultant, please speak with one of our advisors at the time of your booking.
